Review: Matrix Biolage Advanced Scalppure Shampoo, Conditioner & Serum

What does Matrix say about the product: BIOLAGE ADVANCED SCALPPURE is the 1st Multi Corrective solution for 72 hours of scalp balance. My Thoughts: I am sure by now we are familiar with the brand Matrix, especially their Biolage range of products. I remember first trying the Biolage Deep Smoothing range in 2013, the Biolage Advanced Repairinside range in 2014, and the Biolage Smoothproff range in 2015. Needless to say, I always go back to the brand. They recently launched the Biolage Advanced Scalppure range, which I happily accepted when they sent it my way. One of the reasons I was keen on trying these products was because a few months ago, I discovered I had a mild dandruff issue, post which I added various anti-dandruff shampoos in my regime. The Scalppure range is specially made to combat scalp issues such a dandruff, oily scalp and itchiness, which I currently face. I have been using these products for over a month, and this is what I think of it:

Let me not beat around the bush and come straight to the point – the Biolage Advanced Scalppure shampoo is my favourite product from this range. The shampoo is unlike any I’ve used, with a thick and creamy texture that lathers easily. A little goes a long way when it comes to this product. It also has a refreshingly minty fragrance. I noticed how clean my scalp felt from the first wash, and it left my hair feeling fresh the next day as well. After weeks of using it, I’ve noticed a visible difference in my dandruff. A clarifying shampoo, it got rid of dirt, grime, and gave my thin hair a lot of volume. I highly recommend you try this one for sure!

Matrix Biolage Advanced Scalppure Complete Solution Conditioner for Scalp & Hair

Unlike many conditioners available in the market, Matrix Biolage Scalppure Conditioner is not just for your hair but for your scalp too. This salmon pink conditioner has a citrus fragrance and comes in a tube packaging. The texture of the product is not too thick so you need not worry about it weighing down your hair. The product, however, is not the most moisturising, so it may not be the best fit for those of you with really dry hair. I was hesitant at first to go against conventional wisdom regarding the application of a conditioner, however I feel this shampoo and conditioner duo go hand-in-hand when it comes to solving your scalp issues.

Ladies (and Gentlemen) you may have heard about serum for your hair, but serum for you scalp? This was a first for me too. The lightweight clear serum is meant to be applied directly on your scalp post-wash.  The nozzle helps make application easier as well. With  powerful ingredients such as Zinc Pyrithione (anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties) and Bergamot (antiseptic and purifying), the serum uses a concentrated approach to tackle scalp issues such a oiliness, itchiness and dandruff. Those of you facing these issues will definitely benefit from this product.
