Summer is upon us and what sounds better than to welcome it with an elaborated shopping spree. I came across this offer which is sure to save you some ‘mulah’. If you or someone in your family owns a RuPay Debit, Credit and Prepaid card you get an additional 10% discount at Big Bazaar, FBB and Ezone outlets until the 30th of April, 2018. Get ready to stock up on household supplies, electronics and clothes, and if you don’t already have a RuPay card, read on, and I’m sure you’ll end up contacting your bank to get yourself one.
Wondering what RuPay is?
RuPay is India’s answer to a domestic electronic payment system that promotes consumerism by offering time-sensitive discounts or deals with reputed brands like BookMyShow, MakeMyTrip, Pepper Fry and Kaya Skin Clinic (to name a few). By getting a RuPay card, your shopping experience will be one of saving, scheduling and surprises. When I was studying in the UK four years ago, I was introduced to multiple websites, cards and other schemes wherein you could save money and keep your bank balance above water. So, I’m particularly happy to see India following this concept as I know just how useful it was during my university days.
Why is this an amazing offer?
I wanted to stock up on house supplies, so went to my trusty Big Bazaar and ended up getting 10% off at a store that is already budget friendly! I was eyeing a cookware for a while now and basically got it for free with this offer. I literally walked out feeling like I have control over my finances. Likewise, I could treat myself to some accessories at FBB which I ordinarily wouldn’t have if not for the discount. Think, plan and get the most out of this deal before it’s gone.
Why should you use RuPay?
Living in the material world, our purchasing needs are literally on a loop – from buying shampoo every two months to buying birthday gifts every year, our hard-earned money never fails to get squandered routinely. Whether you’re the type to track your bills and count every rupee you’re owed or, a mindless shopper who doesn’t know the difference between ₹500 and ₹5000, RuPay will help save your money while making your shopping experience a pleasure (we all take pleasure in discounts!). These schemes also make you a lot more organised as you often have to plan your week around them and you begin to approach everything with a ‘how can I save here‘ attitude. Because RuPay is constantly adding new deals every month or so, it’s an opportunity to try out new restaurants or other services without paying for it in full. Also, the aspect of getting on the website and seeing your favourite company in the offers section is quite the thrill.
I personally like the RuPay Platinum Debit Card, which gives you a Croma voucher of Rs. 500, 15% at Apollo Pharmacy, complimentary airport lounge access at 30+ domestic lounges (2 per quarter), cashback of 5% on utility bill payments (capped at Rs.50 per month per card), 24/7 concierge services for travel and hotels and an insurance coverage of 2 lakh. There are a lot more cards to choose from, however, I personally feel like a debit structure would suit me the most.
*RuPay Card Holders will get additional 10% discount at Big Bazaar/FBB/E-zone on a single minimum purchase of Rs. 1,500/-.
